Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens was created and written by Awkwafina herself, and should bring much of the artist's life. Nora is the real name of rapper - Nora Lum - who was born in New York and raised in Queens. The series follows Nora Lin, a girl raised by her father and grandmother, alongside her cousin. Nora will lean on her family as she navigates her adult life in New York City. Watch the trailer.
The 10 episodes of the series will be directed mostly by women. Emmy-nominated actress Natasha Lyonne ( Russian Doll ), Lucia Aniello ( Broad City ), Jamie Babbit ( Russian Doll and Silicon Valley ), The Daniels ( A Dead Body To Survive And Legion ), Steven Tsuchida ( White Face Guy ) and Anu Valia ( The Other Two ) is responsible for the direction of the chapters.
The cast of the series features Awkwafina, BD Wong ( Mr. Robot ), Lori Tan Chinn ( Orange is The New Black ) and Bowen Yang ( Saturday Night Live ).
